56 - 63 per annum + outside ir35 Reading, England Contract Our client, a leading engineering business in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Software Commissioning Team Leader to join their team on a contract basis within the nuclear sector.Key Responsibilities:Supervise onsite commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant and accurate testingReview commissioning documentation and Safe System of Work for suitabilityEnsure compliance with commissioning document and Safe System of Work by all involvedWork according to approved commissioning procedures and Safe Systems of Work, coordinating with other parties and attending site planning meetingsManage the application, recording, monitoring, and removal of Temporary Commissioning AidsRaise commissioning reservations and seek guidance when systems do not operate as expected or defects are foundHalt commissioning activities and seek guidance in case of uncertaintyControl situations and ensure safety in the event of incidents, preserving the scene for investigationEnsure final state of plant configuration post commissioning aligns with documentation or agreementsJob Requirements:Experience with Siemens PLC and SCADA systemsProficiency in control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutionsEssential experience in testing and on-site commissioningExcellent awareness of health and safety, with SSSTS or SMSTS preferredHolds an ECS card or equivalentSecurity Clearance (SC) requiredDesirable Experience:Knowledge of drives, plant historians, and network design and configurationUnderstanding of cyber security and functional safetyFamiliarity with industrial protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC, etc.If you have demonstrated expertise in PLC and control systems and are ready to lead commissioning activities in a critical sector, we would love to hear from you.
