NegotiableHertfordshire, EnglandPermanentAbout the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing Systems Integration and Validation team focused on delivering high-quality software-based simulation, modelling and experimentation solutions.This role offers the chance to contribute to the integration, testing and validation of complex simulation products used within highly regulated engineering environments. Working within a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring software products meet customer requirements and are ready for deployment.Test & Validation PlanningUnderstand customer and project requirements from a test and validation perspectiveAnalyse system architectures and define software test environment requirementsDevelop comprehensive test plans, test procedures and validation strategiesSupport verification and certification planning activitiesTest & Validation ExecutionConduct progressive testing throughout software development cyclesPerform functional, integration and system-level testingInvestigate software defects, anomalies and unexpected behavioursSupport integration activities, customer demonstrations and trialsAnalyse logs and test data to identify issues and verify compliance with requirementsExecute formal qualification and acceptance testingReporting & Stakeholder EngagementProvide regular status updates to project teams and stakeholdersProduce detailed test reports and supporting evidenceSupport software release and certification activitiesContribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologiesTechnical EnvironmentExperience in some or all of the following would be beneficial:Python scriptingGitLabJenkinsJIRAIBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (DOORS, ETM/ALM)Agile/Scrum methodologiesTest automation frameworksCI/CD pipelinesSoftware log and data analysisMicrosoft Office, including ExcelSimulation, modelling or emulation environments (desirable)Essential Skills & ExperienceExperience validating, testing or proving complex software or systemsSoftware testing experience across the development lifecycleUnderstanding of Verification & Validation (V&V) principlesPython scripting experienceExperience producing test plans, test procedures and reportsISTQB certification or equivalent software testing qualificationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDesirable Skills & ExperienceKnowledge of systems engineering principlesExperience working within Agile delivery environmentsExposure to simulation, modelling or emulation technologiesFamiliarity with regulated or safety-critical engineering environmentsUnderstanding of software integration and release processesThis is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation developing innovative technology solutions within a complex engineering environment, offering exposure to cutting-edge projects and long-term career development.
