Supplier Relationship Manager - IT & Digital
A fantastic opportunity for a Supplier Relationship Manager within Digital & IT has arisen to join a leading defence & technology organisation. You'll be embedded within a specialist domain of procurement professionals across the UK and Europe, supporting areas such as Software (SaaS, Engineering & Manufacturing, Enterprise), Hardware, Services, Networks and Cyber.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to the UK Digital Excellence team, ensuring effective supplier performance, contract development, and strategic partnership management across a critical portfolio.
Role - Supplier Relationship Manager - Digital & IT
Location - Bolton (hybrid working 2-3 days onsite p/week)
Type - Permanent position
Salary - £55,000-£65,000 + bonus + benefits
Key responsibilities of the Supplier Relationship Manager / Supplier Relationship Manager - Digital & IT role and not be limited to:
- Acts as a trusted member of the UK management team within Digital Services & Solutions Procurement.
- Responsible for leading SRM delivery across a critical digital procurement domain.
- Drives the development and optimisation of key supplier and stakeholder relationships.
- Supplier portfolio includes everything from locally based service partners to major European and US software providers.
- Works closely with the Group Supplier Relationship Manager to shape and execute the overarching SRM strategy.
- Owns and develops key vendor relationships and contract strategies for the UK market.
- Collaborates with the wider international procurement community to align approaches, share best practice and uplift SRM capability.
Key skills and experience required for Supplier Relationship Manager / Supplier Relationship Manager - Digital & IT and not limited to:
- Strong senior procurement or SRM background, ideally MCIPS qualified or studying towards would be a bonus but not essential.
- Experience influencing and leading SRM strategies, preferably within IT services.
- Knowledge of contracts, contract law, SLAs and performance metrics.
- Ability to manage contracts across the full lifecycle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to advise on strategy independently.
- Strong soft skills and emotional intelligence.
- A supportive team player with a passion for building relationships and driving positive outcomes.
