Bids Manager
We’re looking for a Bid Manager to manage end-to-end tenders across public and private sector clients. This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years bid experience, or a Senior Bid Writer who’s ready to take ownership of full bids, manage stakeholders, and shape winning propositions.
You’ll lead bids from opportunity qualification through to submission, working closely with business development, subject matter experts, and senior stakeholders to produce high‐quality, compelling responses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the end-to-end bid process (RFI, RFP, ITT) from opportunity qualification through to submission
- Review tender documentation to clearly define scope, requirements, risks and evaluation criteria
- Develop clear win themes, bid structure and compliant responses aligned to client needs
- Write, edit and quality‐assure high-quality, client-focused bid content that clearly articulates value and differentiation
- Coordinate inputs from subject matter experts and internal stakeholders, ensuring contributions are accurate, timely and aligned
- Manage bid plans, timelines and review cycles to meet tight deadlines
- Proactively engage with buyers to seek clarifications and ensure full understanding of bid requirements
- Submit bids accurately, compliantly and on time
- Track the progress of bid evaluations and respond effectively to clarification questions or presentations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, SMEs and external partners
- Support pre‐bid activity, including market engagement, industry events and stakeholder networking where appropriate
- Proactively identify and support bid opportunities aligned to the target market and business strategy
- Lead post-bid feedback and lessons learned, using insight to improve future bid quality and win rates
- Continuously improve bid processes, content and strategy through feedback and outcome analysis
- Contribute to the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the bid content library
Required knowledge, skills, education and experience
ESSENTIAL
- Minimum 2 years bids experience
- Proven experience supporting or managing end-to-end bids (RFI/RFP/ITT) ideally on bids of £1m+ or multi-year frameworks
- Strong written communication skills with evidence of winning, client-focused proposals
- Ability to manage multiple bids, working to tight deadlines and coordinating inputs from cross‐functional teams
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how to position solutions competitively
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and constructively challenging input
- Experience using bid tools, document libraries or CRM/proposal platforms
- High attention to detail, resilience under pressure, and a proactive ownership‐led mindset
- Strong presentation and storytelling ability, comfortable influencing stakeholders and contributing to bid presentations
- A demonstrable growth mindset, with a desire to learn, improve and take accountability for outcomes
- Working knowledge of risk, governance and compliance requirements, and the ability to reflect these appropriately within tender responses
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of Contingent Labour, Employment Screening, SoW or workforce solutions
- Degree in English, Marketing, Communications or similar
- Exposure to public sector or framework bids
- Experience with pre-employment screening or recruitment platforms.
- Sector experience in HR, People Services, technology, SaaS, compliance, or regulated services, ideally with exposure to large enterprise or government procurement
