Mobilisation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and manage IT installations and changes at sites including new branches and offices. This includes working with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure facilities are available in line with agreed timescales.

2. Provide end-user support at head office (in person or using external resources) to deliver an efficient service to the business.

3. Work with contracts team and Technology to deliver appropriate solutions to home and mobile users and users based at third party sites.

4. Maintain a capability in Accessible Technology to ensure disabled users can work effectively with IT equipment and applications.

5. Provide assistance to external engineering support organisation advising on best practice, resolving issues and contributing to service reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Experience in a customer facing IT role

• Experience in working closely with IT suppliers

• Project management or working within a structure project environment

• Valid Driving Licence 

• Common sense approach and helpful attitude

• Can plan methodically, but be flexible if the situation changes

• Team worker with natural problem-solving skills

• Able to relate to and communicate easily with users and managers at all levels

• Supporting hardware and software in a diverse and varied setting

• Supporting Networks and Telephony – LAN/WAN

• Meeting agreed SLAs as part of incident management

• Advising Users/groups on IT solutions including the use of Adaptive Technology

• Aid Users in diagnosing and resolving problems remotely

• Willing to travel regularly within the UK involving overnight stays - occasionally required to go into the Leicester office as and when needed.

Desirable: 

• Experience as an IT service engineer

• Experience in supporting branch and mobile users

• Experienced in the support of Maximus’s core infrastructure applications – Windows 10, MS Office 2003-21 and Web 

• Experience in supporting mobile technologies – e.g. Android, Smart Phone, 4G/5G devices.

• Experience working with switches, routers, printers, scanners etc.

• Experience in networking and telecommunications.

• Able to work with minimum of supervision as well as part of a team.
