We have partnered with a Manchester-based technology and market research company that is looking for a Data Engineer to join its growing team. Over the past decade, they have supported some of the world's leading brands with data-driven intelligence that drives growth and decision-making. As a Data Engineer, you will help design, build, and optimise cloud-native data solutions across a modern AWS-based platform. You'll work with Python, Spark, and Airflow to deliver scalable data pipelines and reliable data products.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS (including S3).
- Use Apache Spark and Airflow to process and orchestrate large datasets.
- Write and maintain Python-based data services and tooling.
- Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of data platforms.
- Support infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver data solutions.
Key requirements
- 3+ years' experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Hands-on AWS experience (especially S3 and data services).
- Experience with Apache Spark and Airflow.
- Understanding of CI/CD, testing, and modern data engineering practices.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets.
- Terraform/CloudFormation experience desirable.
