The product uses connected device data, automation and analytics to reduce energy usage, improve performance and drive cost savings at scale. Customers include major retail and hospitality brands operating across large property portfolios.

The role:

You will work on data problems across smart buildings, IoT and energy optimisation.

You will use high-volume telemetry, asset data and environmental inputs to deliver insights and predictive models.

Your work will improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption and increase system reliability.

What you will do

  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends and opportunities
  • Build and deploy machine learning models
  • Design end to end data science workflows
  • Turn research and prototypes into production-ready solutions
  • Apply techniques such as regression, clustering, classification and anomaly detection
  • Run experiments to optimise asset performance and control strategies
  • Work with product and engineering teams to deliver data-led solutions
  • Present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support customer-facing teams to align outputs with real use cases
  • Contribute to best practice, documentation and reusable components
  • Stay current with developments in AI and machine learning

What you need

  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on solving real problems
  • Experience with Python or R, including libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn or TensorFlow
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Experience in a data science role, ideally in a product or customer-facing environment
  • Solid grounding in statistics and machine learning
  • Degree in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physics

Nice to have

  • MSc or PhD in a relevant field
  • Experience deploying models in cloud environments
  • Experience with Git and modern data platforms
  • Exposure to Agile delivery
  • Background in energy, IoT or smart buildings
  • Ability to work independently and handle ambiguity
  • Strong communication skills
