Information Security Officer

We are working with a leading Financial Services organisation that is looking for an Information Security Officer to support a broad range of security and technology risk activity. This is an ideal step up for someone with experience in security governance, technology risk or IT audit who is ready for more ownership and visibility.

You will work closely with the Information Security Manager and wider Technology teams to strengthen security controls, review incidents, assess suppliers and support the ongoing development of the organisation’s security framework. The role suits someone who enjoys detail, is naturally inquisitive and confident engaging with senior and technical colleagues.

This role offers a base salary of around £85,000 plus excellent benefits. The client provides a very flexible working environment with occasional travel to site.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of security and technology risk frameworks
• Carry out control assessments and advise on areas that need improvement
• Review policies and standards and help ensure good security practice across Technology
• Assist with supplier assurance and wider third party security reviews
• Support incident review work and elements of operational resilience
• Prepare clear reports and insights for senior leadership
• Build effective relationships across Technology, Risk, Audit and the wider business

Requirements

• Experience in Information Security, Technology Risk, IT Audit, IT Assurance or similar
• Good understanding of ISO, NIST, PCI DSS, UK GDPR and general security control principles
• Confident communicator who can engage senior stakeholders and technical teams
• Naturally inquisitive with strong analytical skills
• Comfortable managing several workstreams at once
• Knowledge of security tooling or cloud environments such as Azure would be useful
