Data Sourcing and Strategy Analyst
Location:- London (City)
Hybrid working: 3 days per week in office + 2 days WFH
The central Data and AI group of this leading investment management firm, are seeking an Analyst on a day rate contract basis (inside of IR35) to engage with investment teams, contribute to building scalable insights and evaluation methods and sourcing new data to increase data discovery for the business. We are looking for an Analyst within the Data Sourcing and Strategy team who will be responsible for proactively managing aspects of the data acquisition and commercial life cycle to create P&L impacting value for the investment business.
The role will involve assisting with data administration, data sourcing, contract negotiations and driving cost savings across the business. Candidates must be able to thrive when working in an incredible fast-paced agile environment with demanding deadlines and under high pressure to deliver incredible results.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing relationships with several stakeholders including vendors, internal end users, business managers up to COO & CFO level. The role provides a good level of autonomy and the post holder will be expected to lead negotiations, structure contracts and engage with the world's leading investment managers.
Responsibilities
- Own the full life cycle of data discovery by identifying the needs and opportunities, vetting new data sources and managing vendor relationships
- Expand the breadth of data available within the firm and build strong relationships with our investment teams
- Managing trial & license processes through engagement with internal stakeholders such as researchers, portfolio managers, compliance and legal
- Negotiating with data vendors to obtain the best value terms and conditions for our client
- Helping to drive down data costs including ongoing identification of cost saving opportunities
- Ongoing management of data contracts and vendor relationships including supporting external data audits, usage reporting and ensuring compliance
- Supporting the business with any queries around data licensing and making applicable commercial recommendations
- Creating and managing data reports, metrics and dashboards
Skills/Requirements
- Prior experience working in a Commercial Management/Procurement or related function
- Understanding of key market data suppliers
- Proven relationship management skills
- Experience working with senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
- Excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated to learn and a collaborative team player
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
