Equities Java Algo Developer

Are you looking to take on a highly visible Front-Office Java Developer role at a global Investment Bank that is a pioneer in electronic trading?

My client seeks an experienced quantitative Java developer to join a friendly team of experienced quants and algorithmic developers based in their London offices.

What is the job?

• The Successful applicant will be involved in various tasks ranging from analysing market microstructure and its effects on algorithmic trading to overseeing the change and roll-out of those

• Making business-focused strategy logic changes in Java code and working with other developers, testing and support teams to roll these changes out to clients

• Design models to more effectively use trading tactics to achieve strategic performance, and work closely with the engineering teams to implement the models.

• Understand and evaluate the contribution of various trading tactics to strategic performance

What skills and experience do you need?

• Deep intellectual curiosity and passion for software and data and front office technolodgy

• Ability to work globally with the wider team of quants;

• Three years plus experience with the Java programming language and ecosystem, including; concurrency, Java 17+, dependency injection, and testing best practices;

• Experience in implementing electronic trading

• Exposure to distributed systems and message-oriented

Do you have?

• Knowledge of the European equities market microstructure and strategies;

• Strong coding skills in Java, and ideally Python

• High-frequency trading experience preferred, g. in market making, proprietary, or possibly agency space;

• Excellent Masters degree or PhD in statistical or related discipline or computing g. statistics, stochastic modelling, machine learning or computer science.
