Guidewire Functional Consultant - Business Analyst

I'm currently supporting a global consultancy in their search for a Guidewire Functional Consultant / Business Analyst.

You'll be working closely with stakeholders to shape requirements and support delivery across Guidewire InsuranceSuite within P&C insurance programmes delivered using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). Location: London, Midlands, Leeds, Glasgow, or Edinburgh (Hybrid)Salary: Up to £75,000 Type: Permanent Role, Open To Notice Periods

What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a central part in delivering Guidewire implementation and transformation projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Client Engagement: Work closely with clients and project teams to understand requirements, proactively raise issues, and provide guidance on functional solutions.
  • Business Analysis & Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed business requirements, process maps, and workflows. Document current 'As Is' processes and define 'To Be' processes to support solution design.
  • Target Operating Models: Assist in the development and implementation of Target Operating Models (TOMs) to improve operational efficiency and align with business objectives.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate project inputs, define reporting structures, and provide management with clear, actionable updates on project status.
  • Planning & Reporting: Support project planning, manage timelines, monitor budgets, and provide structured progress reports.
  • Solution Design Support: Collaborate with technical teams to ensure functional requirements are translated into system solutions within Guidewire applications.

Who You Are

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Agile Expertise: Has experience delivering projects using agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Insurance Knowledge: Demonstrates deep understanding of the insurance sector, particularly functional roles or operational processes.
  • P&C Insurance Experience: Possesses expertise in property and casualty (P&C) insurance markets, including business applications like policy administration and claims management.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Is an excellent communicator, able to articulate complex ideas clearly and build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Enjoys documenting and analyzing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to practical, business-focused solutions.
