Senior Data Engineer Private Equity Real Estate Location: London Working: 5 days per week onsite (non-negotiable)Package: Up to £120k Total Compensation The Role An opportunity to join a highly successful private equity investment firm as they continue to invest in their data platform and engineering capabilities.You'll play a key role in building and evolving the firm's cloud-based data platform, developing scalable data pipelines, integrating internal and external data sources, and delivering high-quality data that directly supports investment decisions.This is a hands-on engineering role in a fast-paced environment, working closely with investment, finance and asset management teams. You'll also mentor two junior Data Engineers while owning day-to-day technical delivery.Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
- Integrate internal and external data sources using APIs and scripting
- Build and enhance cloud-based data infrastructure using AWS/GCP and SQL
- Drive automation and continuous improvements across the data platform
- Ensure data quality, governance and reliability across datasets
- Develop reporting and analytics solutions to support commercial decision-making
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions
- Mentor and support two junior Data Engineers
Key Requirements
- 4+ years' experience in Data Engineering or a similar role
- Strong SQL and Python development experience
- Solid experience with Snowflake (essential)
- Experience building cloud-based data platforms (AWS and/or GCP)
- Experience working with APIs and integrating multiple data sources
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Previous mentoring or coaching experience is desirable
