System Integration Lead

Job Title: Vehicle System Integration Lead Contract: 6months (possible extensions)

Location: Gaydon (hybrid/ 2 days per week onsite)

Day rate: £260 inside ir35

Our client is seeking an experienced Vehicle System Integration Lead to drive the end-to-end integration of customer features and systems into current and future vehicle programmes. This role sits within a central integration function, working across engineering domains to ensure features, software, and systems are delivered to sign-off quality in a planned and controlled manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration and maturation of customer features and functions to programme gateway sign-off.
  • Co-ordinate cross-functional delivery activities across engineering domains, translating plans into clear, time-based integration goals.
  • Ensure seamless execution across all phases of delivery, including requirements definition, architecture finalisation, network design, and test case execution.
  • Manage feature and system bring-up on vehicle and test assets, identifying and resolving timing or technical integration issues.
  • Work within Agile delivery environments, proactively identifying risks, removing blockers, and resolving cross-functional disconnects.
  • Maintain the Mainline Integration Plan (MIP) within JIRA, co-ordinating inputs and producing weekly consolidated integration reports.
  • Provide transparent reporting on feature availability and maturity to stakeholders across the business.
  • Support and contribute to bi-weekly showcases presented to senior leadership.
  • Support the Technical Group Lead in delivering fully integrated software to vehicle programmes.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities for complex system integration challenges.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of the full Systems Design Life Cycle.
  • Proven experience delivering complex mechatronic, electrical, or software systems at whole-vehicle level.
  • Excellent technical project and programme management skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments using JIRA.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CANalyser, Wireshark, and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Degree-level education preferred.
