PCN Hub Receptionist/Administrator
Job summary
Medway Rainham PCN is looking for a friendly, organised Receptionist/Administrator to join our hub team in Rainham, Kent.
This is a long-term role, central to how the hub runs and to the trust patients place in us every day. You'll be the first face and voice patients and visitors meet, seeing the whole person and not just the reason for their visit, while providing efficient support to our clinical and operational teams including help running meetings and events.
Three words guide everything we do here: compassion, collaboration and community. We lead with kindness in every interaction, work across roles and practices sharing learning openly, and are shaped by the neighbourhood we serve.
We're looking for someone with reception experience, ideally in a GP surgery, confident using EMIS Web, who wants to build real relationships with the team and community.
Join us and help deliver accessible, proactive, personalised care from the heart of Rainham.
Main duties of the job
As our Receptionist/Administrator, you'll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors at the hub welcoming them, managing phone calls and messages, and booking appointments on EMIS Web.
You'll keep the reception and waiting areas running smoothly, support our clinical and administrative teams with day-to-day admin and record-keeping, and help coordinate meetings and events across the PCN.
You'll work closely with hub staff, practice teams and colleagues across the network, always handling patient information with care and in line with confidentiality and information governance requirements.
About us
Medway Rainham PCN brings together GP practices across Rainham to deliver joined-up, patient-focused care to our local community. Our hub team works closely with practice staff, clinicians and the wider primary care system to deliver services across the network.
We're a friendly, supportive team, and our values shape how we work every day: compassion, collaboration and community. We lead with kindness in every interaction, work across disciplines and roles sharing learning openly, and hold ourselves accountable to one another even when it's hard. We're not just based in this neighbourhood, we're part of it, and we're shaped by the people who live and work here.
As part of our team, you'll benefit from the NHS Pension Scheme and an extra day's annual leave for your birthday, plus a genuinely values-led place to work where your contribution is seen and valued.
