Job summary

Responsible for the day to day smooth running of the practice and Medwyn Centre ensuring all functions are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures, protocols and time-scales, reporting to the Practice Business Manager as necessary.

Main duties of the job

Oversee all aspects of IT operations, continuously scanning for emerging technologies and innovations. Ensure technology enhances patient support and safety, and maintain high standards of management, security, and controlled deployment.

Safeguarding

The post-holder must show commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be expected to follow safeguarding policies, complete appropriate safeguarding training and undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Health & Safety:

The post-holder will implement and lead on the full range of promotion and management of their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policies, Staff handbook and the Practices Infection Control policies and other relevant procedures. This will include (but will not be limited to):

Ensuring job holders in the team adhere to their individual responsibilities for infection control and Health & Safety, using a system of observation, hazard identification, reporting to relevant management.

Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines

Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks across the business and flagging them to other appropriate staff as required.

Making effective use of training and other available resources to update knowledge and skills, and initiate and manage the training of others

Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintain work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards, and initiation of remedial / corrective action where needed

Actively identifying, reporting and correction of health and safety hazards immediately when recognised

Keeping own work areas and general / patient areas generally clean, identifying issues and hazards / risks in relation to other work areas within the business, and assuming responsibility in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness across the business in consultation (where appropriate) with other managers.
