Head of Security - Global Crypto Exchange (fully remote, new headcount)

A global crypto exchange is expanding its European security practice and seeks a Head of Security to own assurance, audit and control strategy across digital-asset custody platforms.The position is fully remote (open to any Eu countries & UK), reports to the Global CISO and leads all security-validation work for identity, key-management, cloud and network layers.

Ideal candidate:

• Over ten years of experience in security assurance, compliance, cloud security engineering, or IT audit
• Practical expertise in designing and testing IAM, KMS/HSM, and network/cloud controls
• Demonstrated ability to prepare client assurance packages (RFP/RFI/DDQ responses) and coordinate evidence collection
• Familiarity with blockchain or digital-asset custody environments (preferred)
• Proven history of supporting SOC 1/2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or similar external assessments
• Proficient in AWS, Azure, or GCP and in infrastructure-as-code tooling
• Self-motivated, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a pragmatic, business-aligned approach to risk

Daily responsibilities include: performing control tests, conducting vendor due diligence on Web3 partners, facilitating external audits, tracking regulatory developments, closing process gaps, and researching next-generation security tooling to maintain the custody platform’s resilience.
