Leading Professional Membership Organisation
London – Hybrid Working
Salary: Up to £60K
Permanent, Full Time
Our client, a leading professional membership organisation operating at the heart of a high-profile and influential sector, is seeking an experienced Strategic Insights Manager to join its Relationship Management team.
This is a broad and varied role combining member insight and analysis, operational oversight, governance, project management and process improvement. You will use data to inform decision-making, strengthen the member experience and improve engagement and retention, while also overseeing core membership administration processes and systems.
You will lead the strategic development roadmap for the organisation’s membership relationship management system, manage one direct report and retain hands-on responsibility for a small portfolio of member relationships. You will also own and deliver the sponsorship budget for a number of established member networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse membership trends, demographics, engagement, retention and participation data.
- Produce insightful reports, dashboards and recommendations for the senior leadership team.
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities to improve member satisfaction and operational performance.
- Use data and insight to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Work closely with Finance, Marketing and Operations colleagues to align reporting and member intelligence.
- Oversee membership administration, including onboarding, renewals, applications, payments and record maintenance.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data held within the membership database and CRM/MRM system.
- Develop and implement effective processes, controls and service standards.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, data protection requirements and governance standards.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to streamline processes and increase operational efficiency.
- Develop and own the strategic roadmap for the membership relationship management system.
- Manage, support and develop an analyst-level administrator, allocating workloads and monitoring performance.
- Act as an escalation point for complex member enquiries and operational issues.
- Relationship-manage a small portfolio of members, ensuring they receive an excellent service.
- Own and deliver the sponsorship budget for member networks, identifying new and innovative sponsorship opportunities.
The Successful Candidate
You will have:
- Experience within membership services, operations, business analysis or a similarly data-led environment.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience using CRM or membership relationship management systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting or data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver work to demanding deadlines.
- Experience managing or supervising an administrator or analyst.
- A strong commitment to member service and operational excellence.
Experience gained within a trade association, professional body, subscription organisation or other member-led environment would be particularly advantageous, as would an understanding of GDPR and data governance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and commercially aware membership professional who enjoys combining strategic insight with hands-on operational delivery. The role offers considerable variety, visibility and the opportunity to shape systems, processes and services that directly influence the member experience.
