Senior / Lead Site Reliability Engineer – Glasgow Hybrid (2 days in the office) - £80,000 - £95,000 + Bonus & Benefits Meraki Talent’s global financial client is actively looking for a Senior/Lead SRE to join them in Glasgow and will sit within their Messaging team. You will build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms as required with the aim of ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. You will ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response. There is a big focus on SRE within the business at the moment on how to maintain and improve the existing SRE estate whilst being able to proactively diagnose issues and incidents before they happen across various operations teams. Experience
- Highly skilled technician across SRE and DevOps
- DevOps tools - Ansible, Chef, Kubernetes, GitLab, Jenkins
- SRE logging & Monitoring Tools - ELK stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Open Telemetry
- Public cloud experience – they use AWS and Azure.
- Beneficial if you can script / code – Python, Ruby, JSON etc.
- Messaging/Streaming products - Kafka, IBM MQ, IBM IIB/ACE – also beneficial
- This is a Lead level role so experience leading a team from either a tech perspective or management perspective would be ideal. They are happy to look at a senior looking to step up to lead.
- Have developed and enforced SRE best practices and principles.
