Junior DevOps Engineer

Who we are

At Mercury, we're redefining how recruitment and staffing firms use technology. Our cloud-based SaaS platform, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, helps businesses automate, scale, and perform at their best.

Founded in 2014, we've grown rapidly into a global organisation with teams across the UK, US, and Australia, trusted by more than 100 customers and 8,000 users. Our growth is powered by innovation and driven by people who care about doing great work. We believe in building technology that changes how the industry works and in creating an environment where talented people can do their best work every day.

What you'll do

As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you'll join our DevOps team at an exciting stage of growth. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll help support and deliver our software platforms, ensuring releases are smooth, automated and scalable.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and monitoring CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Executing automation scripts (primarily PowerShell) and troubleshooting when issues arise.
  • Assisting with deployments to Azure and the Power Platform, working closely with senior team members.
  • Helping onboard new customers and supporting environment management.
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and improve processes.
  • Learning best practices and taking on more responsibility as your confidence grows.

What we're looking for

You'll be someone who enjoys collaborating, thinking logically, and getting into the details of how things work.

We're looking for:

  • Around 1-2 years' experience in DevOps.
  • A basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
  • Some scripting ability - ideally PowerShell, but Bash or Python works too.
  • Exposure to or interest in Azure or another cloud platform.
  • Awareness of how software is developed, tested and released.
  • A solution-focused mindset and strong critical-thinking skills to analyse and resolve challenges.
  • A curious, proactive approach and a genuine desire to learn.
