Technical Engineer
My client a leading MSP has an opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled Technical Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality IT support services, maintaining infrastructure environments, and ensuring client satisfaction through proactive technical delivery. This is a client-facing role requiring regular travel.
You will have exceptional customer facing skills and be responsible for on-site and remote technical support for clients across various sectors.
Your duties will include:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Configure and manage Windows Server environments and Microsoft 365 tenants.
- Install, maintain, and support network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and wireless devices.
- Support and administer Active Directory, Group Policies, Hyper-V, and SharePoint Online.
- Work with VoIP systems (preferably Gamma) and support MS Teams deployments.
- Maintain strong documentation and update ticketing systems with work performed.
You will demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience in a similar Technical Engineer or IT Support role and have strong knowledge of: Windows Server 2012+ and Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Group Policy, Hyper-V virtualisation, Microsoft 365 tenant and SharePoint Online administration, Network infrastructure (DNS, DHCP, routing, switching), Firewall configuration (Meraki / Draytek / Sophos).
As this role will involve travel to client sites, you will need to hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel on an ad-hoc basis. All travel to client site will be expensed and this role also offers a nice mix of remote working days and days in our clients office in Maidenhead, Berks.
A salary of £40,000 plus benefits is on offer.
