Senior Frontend (Vue.js) Developer
Method Grid; one platform to connect knowledge, process and delivery.
Founded in 2016 – and following growth-enabling investment in 2021 – we’re now a team of nearly twenty. Our platform continues to develop at pace, and we can now count on some of the UK’s largest AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) and Professional Services companies as advocate customers.
But we’ve still got work to do. Our ambitions for 2025 and beyond are considerable. Our product roadmap is ‘bursting at the seams’ with feature ideas that we’re keen to build – and we’re motivated to further harness AI and ML to help our customers deliver projects consistently and compliantly.
This role will be offered remotely. We have tried-and-tested practices and processes in place that make this work seamlessly. However, we do commit to co-locating once a quarter, for our all-team 'Summits'. These are based in Bath (there could be worse places to visit!) and brings the whole Method Grid team together for two days.
If you’re interested in joining an ambitious, Values-lead team, then read on.....
The Role
Whilst part of a broader team, you’ll find yourself working closely with a member of our backend team on feature releases. We push out new releases regularly and we’ve some ambitious plans (significant releases) for our platform in 2025.
In terms of technologies, a solid grounding in ‘classical’ frontend technologies is essential. We’ve spent considerable time and effort in updating our application in Vue3 , so strong experience in this area would be essential. As a Senior, you will have experience of component-based architecture and Agile engineering practices such as TDD (possibly also BDD).
It would be beneficial if you had some exposure to full-stack development – particularly around debugging backend issues (PHP, Python) – but this is secondary to the frontend requirements.
About You
You may have already worked in a start-up/scale-up technology business. It isn’t essential – but we are looking for curious minds who are keen to explore new technologies. To the extent we allocate 10% of our development teams’ week for pure R&D.
We have a tight-knit, high-performing development team already. One of the core reasons for this is that they support each other unconditionally. Where a team member may have a gap in knowledge, someone will pro-actively step-in to provide guidance. This should also be part of your behaviour.
Working for a start-up/scale-up technology firm should be something that builds some excitement in you – otherwise, why do it? We’re at a stage of our growth journey where the future could be genuinely exciting, but it will take hard work to get to the next stage.
As mentioned, you will have advanced skills and experience in Vue.js, coupled with deep knowledge of HTML, CSS and accessibility.
