SC Cleared - Network Engineer - Contract

Methods are urgently looking for a SC Cleared Network Engineer for an initial 6 month contract. Due to the nature of this role, its required that this person will work on-site for the full 5 days a week.

The client currently has a disparate infrastructure so the key duties of this role will be to assist in stabilising and clean up a very disparate infrastructure setup.

You Will:

• Asses the current environment
• Identify redundancies and inefficiencies, standardising where possible
• Implementing automation and continuously monitoring and optimizing the network
• Create a detailed inventory of all network devices, software, and configurations
• Pinpoint areas where inconsistencies and redundancies exist. This might involve different vendors, outdated technologies, or conflicting configurations.
• Evaluate network performance metrics, including latency, bandwidth utilization, and packet loss, to understand the impact of the disparate infrastructure.
• Develop a strategic plan for addressing the identified issues. This should include timelines, resource allocation, and a clear definition of success.
• Implement consistent configurations across similar devices and network segments. This can be achieved through automation and the use of templates.
• Identify tasks that can be automated, such as device provisioning, configuration management, and basic troubleshooting
• Implement network management tools that can provide centralized visibility, monitoring, and control over the entire infrastructure.

This role will require you to have Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website.
