(SC cleared) Network Engineer

Location: Onsite - Portsmouth (5 days a week)
Rate: £700 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 months rolling contract

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team onsite in Portsmouth. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong on-premises networking expertise and hands-on experience with enterprise-grade hardware and security platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support on-premises network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues across switching, routing, and Firewall layers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain network performance and security.
• Provide documentation and support for ongoing network changes and upgrades.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven track record as a Network Engineer in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of on-prem networking, including:
• Layer 2/3 switching and routing
• VLANs, VPNs, BGP, OSPF
• Network segmentation and high availability design
• Hands-on experience with Cisco network equipment (CCNP level or equivalent knowledge preferred).
• Good working knowledge of Fortinet (FortiGate) and Palo Alto Networks Firewalls.
• Comfortable operating independently and proactively solving problems.

Additional Information:

• Must be able to commit to full-time onsite presence (5 days a week) in Portsmouth.
• Must be SC cleared
