IT Field Project Engineer
IT Field Project Engineer
£34,000 – £37,000 | London | Field-Based
Prefer installing the technology to sitting behind a screen supporting it?
This could be for you.
You’ll spend your time out with customers, delivering hands-on IT projects across Microsoft 365, infrastructure, networking, hardware and Wi-Fi.
No day-to-day service desk queue.
No role that's called "projects" but somehow becomes 80% BAU support.
Your job is to get out there and deliver to customers across London.
What’s in it for you?
- £34,000 – £37,000 salary
- 100% project delivery focused
- Field-based role working across London and occasionally beyond
- Huge variety of customers, environments and technologies
- Exposure to Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, Windows Server, networking, Wi-Fi and infrastructure
- Ongoing technical training and certifications
- Join an established MSP where quality really matters
- Full business travel expenses covered when traveling to customer sites across London.
What will you actually be doing?
Think deployments rather than tickets.
You could be setting up the technology for a new customer, deploying laptops and Microsoft 365 environments, installing switches and wireless access points, performing a desktop migration, building out a comms room or helping deliver an office relocation.
You’ll carry out site surveys, prepare equipment, install and configure technology, document what you’ve delivered and make sure everything is handed over properly.
And because you’ll often be the person representing the business onsite, how you work matters.
Customers should remember you for the right reasons.
What are we looking for?
You’ll ideally come from an MSP or similar customer-facing IT environment, with experience delivering hands-on technical projects.
Technically, we’re looking for good experience across areas such as:
- Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID
- Windows desktops and servers
- Networking, switches, firewalls and Wi-Fi
- Hardware deployment and configuration
- Infrastructure installations and comms rooms
But technical ability is only part of it.
You’ll need to be reliable, organised and confident dealing directly with customers.
Most importantly, you’ll take ownership.
You won’t just want an installation to work. You’ll want it delivered properly, documented properly and handed over professionally.
Sound like your kind of role?
If you’d rather spend your week building, installing and delivering than working through another ticket queue, I’d love to tell you more.
