Microsoft 365 Developer / Power Platform Developer
Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire | £50,000 - £60,000 | Full-time, primarily office-based
Want to get closer to the business your development work supports?
See how people use the system. Understand what slows them down. Then make improvements that make their working day easier.
This growing, engineering company is looking for an in-house developer to help take ownership of its heavily customised Dynamics platform.
Developed over the past decade, it connects everything from purchasing and invoice processing to labour recording and finance. It’s central to how the business operates, and you’ll have a direct hand in how it evolves.
What’s in it for you?
- Time to understand the system. A substantial onboarding period to learn how it works and why it was built that way.
- Specialist support. Guidance and mentoring from the longstanding Dynamics partner who helped develop it.
- Visible impact. Work directly with users and decision-makers, seeing the results of your improvements.
- Long-term opportunity. Scope to take on greater ownership and potentially lead the small team as the current systems lead steps back.
- A practical, informal environment. A successful business where relationships matter and you can have a straightforward conversation with the people making decisions.
The preference is office-based working, keeping you close to colleagues and users. Potentially 1 day/week from home could be possible.
What you’ll do
You’ll maintain, troubleshoot and steadily improve the existing Dynamics and Power Platform environment.
That means:
- Investigating faults and resolving issues across connected business processes.
- Developing and improving Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.
- Reviewing older workflows and moving suitable processes to cloud flows.
- Simplifying the system for users and identifying useful improvements.
- Working with the external Dynamics partner on more complex changes.
You’ll understand the impact of a change before making it, balancing progress with the reliability of a system the business depends on.
What you’ll need
- Solid hands-on experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience developing, customising or supporting Dynamics 365 CRM and connected business applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the patience to understand an unfamiliar system.
- Confidence speaking with users, asking questions and explaining solutions clearly.
- Enough experience to work independently, with specialist support available when needed.
- Understanding of scripting languages such as JavaScript, Power Fx, or HTML
- Understanding of APIs, data integration, and emerging tools such as AI Builder or Copilot Studio
