Management Accountant

The Management Accountant will oversee the financial operations of the professional services department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. This role involves managing accounting processes, financial reporting, and contributing to strategic decision-making. It will also be an excellent opportunity to learn from an experienced Finance Director.

This is a growing IT / technology business based in the heart of Manchester city centre, known for delivering high-quality services to a diverse client base. After a period of investment, they are now ready to enter a growth phase and are looking for a qualified Management Accountant to help the business progress.

Description

  • Manage the preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor cash flow and implement strategies to optimise financial performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax filings and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead and develop the accounting team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and processes for financial operations.

Profile

The successful Management Accountant should have:

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
  • Proven experience in financial management within the professional services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively

Job Offer
