Management Accountant

Description

  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Take ownership of P&L and balance sheet reporting.
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis and performance commentary against budget and forecast.
  • Partner with departmental stakeholders to support cost management and decision-making.
  • Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end activities across the finance function.
  • Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting.
  • Contribute to ERP and reporting system developments.
  • Support the FP&A team with financial analysis and business performance reporting.
  • Ensure strong financial controls and governance are maintained.

Profile

Essential
  • Fully qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Proven experience within a Management Accountant position.
  • Experience producing management accounts and detailed financial commentary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.
  • Self-motivated with the confidence to work autonomously.

Desirable
  • Experience within technology, software, financial services, insurance, engineering, or other complex commercial environments.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • Exposure to private equity-backed businesses.
  • Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.

Job Offer

  • Competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £55,000, dependent on the level of experience.
