Plant Financial Controller

This Plant Financial Controller role is focused on leading the financial operations of a manufacturing site, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective business partnering across the operation.

Description

  • Supporting the Plant Management Team with financial insight and contributing to strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Leading the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts and monthly reporting activities, ensuring accurate financial performance tracking and robust action plans.
  • Monitoring and analysing site profitability, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing detailed recommendations to improve financial and operational performance.
  • Managing month-end close, reporting to the Business Unit, investment appraisals and return-on-investment analysis.
  • Overseeing cost control activities, including productivity improvement initiatives, manufacturing cost analysis and cost price calculations.
  • Taking ownership of inventory control processes alongside the Logistics team and supporting external audits.
  • Ensuring strong financial governance, compliance and accounting controls across the site.
  • Managing and developing the accounting team, including performance management, training and succession planning.
  • Overseeing site IT systems and budgets, ensuring systems are maintained and optimised to support business operations.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and energy management initiatives, contributing to long-term operational efficiency and sustainability goals.

Profile

Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA) or QBE

Knowledge of the architecture of SAP and a proficient key user essential

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels and within different functions in a multi-national environment

Strong commercial awareness and business acumen

Able to work under pressure with a strong desire to achieve aggressive targets within

A strong work ethic and team orientation

Significant experience within a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment essential

Job Offer

  • Salary: £70,000 - £80,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Bonus: 10% of salary.
  • Pension: 10% employer contribution.
  • Hybrid working: Option to work from home 2 days a week if required.
  • Life insurance: 4 times basic salary.
