Systems Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for a Systems Accountant to support the accounting and finance team in a public sector organisation. The role focuses on enhancing financial systems and processes to ensure efficient and accurate reporting in the North East.

Client Details

My client operate within the public sector, and are looking for a Systems Accountant to join them on a full time basis on a 24 months fixed term contract.

Description

• Maintain and enhance the organisation's financial systems to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with the finance team to identify and implement process improvements.
• Provide technical support and training to users of the financial systems.
• Develop and produce management reports to support decision-making processes.
• Ensure the integrity and security of financial data within the systems.
• Support system upgrades and troubleshoot technical issues as required.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes through system optimisation.
• Work closely with external stakeholders to ensure system requirements are met.

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

• A strong background in accounting and finance, ideally within a public sector setting.
• Proficiency in financial systems and experience with system implementation or upgrades.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A recognised accounting qualification or equivalent experience.

Job Offer

• Paying £45,000-50,000 per annum
