Legal Counsel - International Investment Bank

This is a broad in-house Legal Counsel role within a major international investment bank, advising across commercial contracts, technology and digital projects, M&A, corporate governance and regulatory matters. You'll work closely with stakeholders across Investment Banking, Global Markets, IT, Finance and Compliance, making it an excellent opportunity for a lawyer seeking variety, strong business exposure and sophisticated international work

Description

The role of Legal Counsel will include the following responsibilities:

• Advise on a wide range of commercial, technology and procurement matters, including outsourcing and professional services agreements.
• Support innovative digital and technology projects, including cloud services, AI, distributed ledger technology and trading/information-sharing platforms.
• Work on M&A and corporate advisory matters, including acquisitions, disposals and equity investments.
• Gain exposure to corporate governance matters and broader strategic projects affecting the bank.
• Advise on relevant legal and regulatory developments, contributing to regulatory and legal-watch initiatives.
• Work closely with stakeholders across Investment Banking, Global Markets, Finance, IT & Operations, HR and Compliance.

Profile

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

• Qualified Solicitor in the UK or relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong training and experience in Corporate / Commercial transactional and advisory work.
• Knowledge of financial services regulations and legal frameworks would be beneficial.
• Proven ability to manage legal risks and provide practical advice to stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
