Description

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Innovation, Design and Technology, this London-based role sits at the intersection of Corporate law, client engagement, legal technology and AI-driven transformation.

You will work closely with Corporate partners and clients to understand challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and help design innovative solutions that enhance both client outcomes and lawyer experience. A key focus of the role is driving meaningful adoption of GenAI tools, supporting complex use cases and helping Corporate teams develop more efficient and scalable ways of working.

PKey Responsibilities Client & Partner Engagement
  • Act as a trusted adviser to Corporate partners and lawyers, developing a strong understanding of client needs and commercial priorities.
  • Build relationships with clients to identify challenges and opportunities for innovation.
  • Represent the innovation function in client discussions, pitches and solution design conversations.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to shape technology-enabled improvements.
Opportunity Identification & Business Case Development
  • Identify opportunities to improve the delivery of legal services through process optimisation, automation and technology adoption.
  • Assess potential commercial benefits and prepare business cases for investment.
  • Translate legal and operational challenges into clear requirements for delivery teams.
  • Support the prioritisation and qualification of innovation initiatives.
GenAI Adoption & Innovation
  • Lead initiatives to embed GenAI within Corporate practice groups.
  • Support the development, testing and implementation of sophisticated AI use cases.
  • Coach lawyers on effective and responsible use of AI technologies.
  • Encourage engagement and adoption through training and change management activities.
Solution Design & Delivery
  • Collaborate with legal technologists, product specialists and project teams to design and implement solutions.
  • Support pilots, proofs of concept and wider rollouts.
  • Monitor progress, measure impact and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure solutions align with both client and business objectives.
Future Operating Model Development
  • Support Corporate teams in developing more scalable and efficient delivery models.
  • Contribute to new approaches to legal service delivery and commercial structures.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage alternative delivery teams and support functions.
  • Help shape the future of AI-enabled legal operations.
Coaching & Change Leadership
  • Deliver training sessions on legal technology, GenAI and new ways of working.
  • Support lawyers through periods of change and transformation.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and champion innovation across the business.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.

Profile

A successful Senior Innovation Lawyer should have:

  • Extensive experience in corporate law within professional services.
  • A strong background in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Proven ability to deliver innovative legal solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of legal compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A qualified solicitor or barrister status in England and Wales.

Job Offer

  • A salary dependent on the level of experience, ranging from £90,000 to £110,000.
