Interim Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced an Interim Procurement Manager to support a large, complex public-sector organisation on a 12-month interim basis. This role has a strong commercial and savings focus, alongside responsibility for delivering a portfolio of medium-complexity procurement projects, primarily within ICT and cross-category spend.

Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead delivery of savings, commercial optimisation and value for money across the procurement pipeline, working closely with Finance to track, validate and report benefits.
  • Identify and realise savings through supplier negotiations, contract optimisation, licence and usage reviews, and other commercial levers.
  • Maintain accurate savings trackers, forecasts and reporting for senior governance and finance forums.
  • Lead end-to-end procurement activity on a portfolio of medium-complexity projects, primarily within ICT and cross-category spend.
  • Manage procurement from strategy and market engagement through to contract award, ensuring compliance with relevant public sector regulations.
  • Support and peer-review category strategies, procurement approaches and contract management plans across the wider function.
  • Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across procurement, finance and operational teams to deliver timely, commercially sound outcomes.
  • Provide light-touch support to contract management on a small number of live or legacy contracts.

Profile

A successful Interim Procurement Manager should have:

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around financial data, savings validation and reporting.
  • Broad, end-to-end procurement expertise across multiple categories (not limited to ICT).
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023, particularly in relation to framework creation.
  • Proven ability to lead full procurement lifecycle activity from strategy through to contract award.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills, including working with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering and evidencing savings.

Job Offer

  • A day rate of £500 per day inside IR35.
  • 12 month contract.
