Data Architect

This is a newly created Data Architect position at a time of major digital and organisational transformation. You will define and implement the enterprise-wide data strategy, building a modern, scalable, and AI-ready data ecosystem.

Description

  • Define and lead the enterprise data strategy, governance framework, and standards
  • Design and implement scalable data architecture across commercial, HR, finance, and operational systems
  • Integrate fragmented data sources into a unified, trusted data platform
  • Build foundations for advanced analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to shape the cloud data platform roadmap (Azure environment)
  • Establish best practices for data quality, lineage, metadata, and master data management
  • Act as the organisation's subject matter expert for data architecture and governance
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams
  • Embed ethical, compliant, and sustainable data practices

Profile

  • 8+ years' experience in data architecture, including enterprise strategy and hands-on integration
  • Strong expertise in data governance, modelling, metadata, and lineage
  • Proven experience designing cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Experience integrating data across multiple domains (e.g. CRM, HR, finance, operations)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value
  • Experience preparing data platforms for AI and advanced analytics
  • Strategic thinker who can balance innovation with governance and compliance
  • Relevant degree (Computer Science, Data, or similar); certifications such as Azure, CDMP, or TOGAF are advantageous

Job Offer

  • Day rate ranging from £500-700 per day depending on experience (IR35 status TBC)
  • Hybrid working - London based office
  • 6 month contract
