Data Solutions Lead
The Data Solutions Lead will work closely with senior business stakeholders to identify high-value reporting and data processes that are manual, slow, or error-prone, and personally design and deliver automated solutions that materially improve efficiency, quality, and trust in data.

Description
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand pain points in reporting and data processes, particularly manual and Excel-heavy workflows
- Document as-is processes end-to-end, quantifying effort, risks, and failure points
- Define outcome-based success criteria and design to-be processes and target data models
- Build and maintain automated data ingestion and transformation pipelines using approved enterprise platforms
- Replace Excel-based ETL, macros, and manual reconciliations with robust, repeatable automated workflows
- Implement data quality rules, reconciliation logic, and data lineage to ensure outputs are trusted and auditable
- Establish operational monitoring (data freshness, run health, exception handling) in partnership with IT teams
- Create curated, reusable datasets that act as trusted sources for reporting and analytics (e.g. Power BI)
- Validate outputs with business users to ensure usability, consistency, and confidence
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying automations that reduce cycle time, manual effort, and data errors
Profile
- Strong experience combining business analysis and hands-on data engineering
- Proven delivery of automated data solutions with measurable impact (e.g. cycle time reduction, improved data quality)
- Strong SQL skills and experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or equivalent modern data platforms
- Experience designing and optimising data ingestion and transformation pipelines
- Practical experience implementing data quality controls, version control, and basic DevOps practices
- Ability to map, simplify, and communicate complex processes to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong documentation skills and confidence producing clear working materials
- An outcome-focused mindset - able to ship a working first version quickly and iterate based on impact
- Hands-on problem-solving capability and a continuous improvement mindset
