Data and Research Analyst

Opportunity for a Research & Data Analyst to join a dynamic business on an interim basis. You will lead quantitative research and analytical projects, identify evidence gaps, and deliver evidence-based insights to stakeholders that support strategic and operational decision-making.

Description

RESEARCH AND DATA ANALYST

    • Design, lead and deliver quantitative research projects addressing strategic and operational business challenges.
    • Develop robust research methodologies, including survey design, sampling strategies and statistical analysis plans.
    • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities and emerging issues.
    • Conduct descriptive, statistical and time series analysis.
    • Extract, manipulate and analyse data using R from databases and structured data sources.
    • Assess the suitability, quality and reliability of internal and external datasets.
    • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations for non-technical audiences.
    • Produce high-quality reports, presentations and evidence-based outputs.
    • Collaborate with policy, strategy, operational and subject matter experts.
    • Provide specialist guidance on research design, analytical approaches and interpretation of findings.
    • Support changing business priorities by working flexibly across research and analytical projects.
    • Ensure compliance with governance, data protection and information security requirements.

Profile

RESEARCH AND DATA ANALYST

  • The ideal candidate will be from a research background with experience working as a researcher AND analyst (ideally in-house) with a significant focus on data analysis.
  • 4+ years and expert-level proficiency in R and data visualisation techniques.
  • Experience independently conducting research and analytical projects, applying independent judgement to complex business questions.
  • Advanced expertise in quantitative research methods, including cross-sectional surveys, statistical testing and time series analysis.
  • Strong experience extracting, transforming and analysing data from databases and structured repositories.
  • Demonstrable ability to assess data quality, reliability and suitability for analysis.
  • Must be able to face business stakeholders with strong communication skills, presenting complex findings clearly and simply, translating evidence into business recommendations.
  • Must have enthusiasm, showing evidence of collaboration in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.

Job Offer

RESEARCH AND DATA ANALYST

  • Daily rate between £350 and £400, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Temporary contract with the opportunity to make a tangible impact.
