Description

The Head of PMO will be responsible for establishing and embedding project governance, portfolio controls, reporting frameworks and programme management processes across a complex project portfolio.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions, you will ensure consistency, transparency and effective delivery across a range of projects at different stages of their lifecycle.

• Develop and implement PMO processes, governance frameworks and reporting standards.
• Establish portfolio-level visibility of project progress, risks, dependencies and resource requirements.
• Create and maintain programme plans and delivery roadmaps.
• Support prioritisation and decision-making across multiple concurrent projects.
• Drive consistency in project management approaches across the organisation.
• Develop and maintain reporting for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective governance, risk management and project assurance activities.
• Work collaboratively across commercial, finance, development and delivery teams to support successful project outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased organisational maturity.

Profile

• Experience working independently and taking ownership of a PMO function or programme portfolio.
• A proactive approach with the ability to identify priorities, solve problems and drive initiatives without constant direction.
• Experience operating within a matrix environment, working across multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
• The ability to build effective working relationships across commercial, finance, development, project delivery and leadership teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects, workstreams and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication, organisation and governance capabilities.
• High levels of resilience, adaptability and commercial awareness.
• Advanced Microsoft Project and Excel skills.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience within the District Heating / Heat Networks sector.
• Significant PMO, programme management or portfolio management experience.
• Experience implementing or improving project governance, reporting and delivery frameworks.
• Experience managing multiple interdependent projects and stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Experience working within growing or evolving organisations where processes and governance are being developed and matured.

Job Offer

• Salary between £65,000 and £80,000, dependent on the level of experience.
