The IT Operations Manager will oversee the delivery of IT services and infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with organisational goals. This temporary role in the not-for-profit sector is based in London and requires a strong focus on technology management and operational excellence.

  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide line management, support, and development.
  • Oversee service delivery, including user support and incident management.
  • Lead and support the organisation in cyber and security best practices.
  • Develop and implement IT operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection regulations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor and manage budgets related to IT operations.
  • Lead and support IT projects to enhance organisational efficiency.
  • Provide regular reporting on IT performance and key metrics.

Profile

This successful IT Operations Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in IT service management or operations within a professional environment.
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Office 365, Azure, and cybersecurity platforms like Sophos Central (or similar).
  • Proficiency in cyber and security best practices
  • Experience within non-profit, charity, or membership-based organisations.
  • Ability to manage IT budgets and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Understanding of data protection laws and IT security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Background in cloud migration projects.
  • Experience in leading IT projects and delivering improvements.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Offer

  • Competitive daily rate of approximately £400-£600, dependent on experience.
  • Based in London, requiring 2 days a week on site.
