IT Operations Manager

The IT Operations Manager will oversee IT service management, focusing on Azure and cloud solutions, to ensure smooth operations within the energy and natural resources sector. Description

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IT operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End User Services: Oversee service providers to ensure timely delivery of IT services within agreed SLA levels.
  • Manage IT Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and management of all IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and servers.
  • Microsoft 365: Oversee and work alongside service integrators to implement the full Microsoft stack.
  • Microsoft Azure: Lead cloud-first strategy and ensure all Microsoft Azure services are maintained and available as per business requirements.
  • Service Management: Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services, including incident management, problem resolution, and service requests.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security protocols to protect company data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Project Management: Lead IT projects from planning to execution, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyse IT system performance, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Backup and Recovery: Monitor all data backup services including all cloud workloads.
  • Governance, Audit and Compliance: Work with internal and external audit teams to ensure systems and services are compliant and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of system failure or emergencies.

Profile

A successful IT Operations Manager should have:

  • Experience with Azure and cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks and best practices.
  • A proven track record of managing complex IT operations in a professional setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various teams and stakeholders.
  • A relevant degree or professional certification in technology or IT management.
