IT Project Manager

We are seeking a skilled IT Project Manager to join our client on a permanent basis. The candidate must have a strong IT/Technology background, with proven experience working on IT/Digital Transformation projects, and be able to bridge the gap between the various business units and the Technology team

Client Details

Our client is a well respected organisation operating within the Legal sector. They have a strong PMO of 9 employees, and are looking for an IT Project Manager to join the team. They operate on a hybrid basis (1-2 days/week in office in Central London).

Description

Management

  • Prepare business cases as required to support needed initiatives and related investment
  • Direct, manage and deliver business-critical projects across the organisation to meet business needs
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables to support project business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders, and manage their delivery
  • Gain a comprehensive grasp of all related strategic project issues to ensure project management tools are applied to optimum effect
  • Develop project documentation, including project plans and associated communication documents and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Record issues, risks and changes and monitor their ongoing management to enable successful delivery of projects
  • Prioritise business requirements to develop a pipeline for continuous improvement
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure they are informed and supportive of projects
  • Task external contractors and measure and report on performance to ensure projects are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Estimate resources and participants required to achieve project goals
  • Draft, submit and manage project budgets as required to deliver projects
  • Create and devise solutions to complex problems to ensure business needs are met
  • Trouble shoot and solve problems as and when they occur during projects
  • Prepare project statistics and reports to allow monitoring of performance of projects
  • Lead post project evaluations and present the findings as required

Support

  • Support all projects and the wider programme in line with best practice
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the project, programme and portfolio to enable an effective and informed first point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders

Profile

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Prior experience working in the Legal sector, or a highly regulated environment
  • Track record of change management and project delivery within a professional services culture, including IS-enabled business projects
  • Demonstrable experience of budget management and working with stakeholders to produce meaningful and measurable business cases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to converse at all levels within an organisation, from technical specialists to senior management
  • Demonstrable experience in managing and progressing complex pieces of work
  • Demonstrable practical and theoretical knowledge of using project management tools such as PRINCE2
  • Strong experience in project management or project administration
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering objectives and targets to timescales
  • Experience of contributing proactively to change management processes
  • Demonstrable experience of performance monitoring, evaluation, audit and quality assurance processes
