IT Support Engineer - Trade support

We are seeking an experienced IT Contractor (2nd Line Engineer - Desktop Support) to deliver high-quality IT services and support across European offices. This role acts as the primary point of contact for Onsite IT in London and other global locations, ensuring seamless service delivery and minimal business disruption.

Description

  • Provide 2nd line support for Microsoft Windows environments (Windows 10/11).
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues for laptops and desktops.
  • Support and maintain Microsoft Office 365 and Entra environments.
  • Manage and troubleshoot video conferencing and cloud storage technologies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date process documentation.
  • Identify and communicate recurring issues, driving resolution and awareness.
  • Participate in IT projects alongside BAU support.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, FCA regulations, and PGI Code of Ethics.

Profile

  • Experience: 5+ years in IT support, ideally within Asset Management.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office troubleshooting.
  • Hardware break-fix experience.
  • Exposure to trading applications (e.g., Bloomberg, Charles River).
  • Proven ability to manage IT escalations and major incidents.
  • Hands-on involvement in IT systems and projects.
  • Familiarity with ITIL methodology and regulated environments.
  • Technical Skills: Cloud technologies and vendor management experience.
  • ServiceNow proficiency (highly desirable).
  • Basic networking knowledge (IP traffic, firewalls, routing).
  • Understanding of GDPR and comms room infrastructure.
  • Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across time zones.
  • Proactive approach to learning new technologies.
