Our client is in the Public Sector and due to funding from Central Government and a Digital focus they are looking to bring Development in house. The whole team is 12 people total and you will be the first in house developer. They are looking for a hands on Tech Lead who alongside coding will get involved in working with suppliers, scoping out work and mentoring 1 or 2 others when the team grows later this year. This role is a 2 year FTC which is very likely to turn permanent. This role can be done remote with twice monthly visits to Central London.

Description

  • Lead and manage all future development.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of technology projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with organisational goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members - currently it would just be yourself in the team but they are then looking to grow with 2 mid/senior developers later this year.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in software development and system design.
  • Monitor project progress and implement necessary adjustments to meet deadlines.
  • Facilitate the integration of new technologies to enhance organisational efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting for all technical projects.

Profile

Must haves:

  • Python / Django
  • Some front end experience - ideally React but open to Vue
  • Experience taking the lead on projects and scoping work etc
  • Strong communication skills - you will be the face of development in the business
  • An interest in AI

Nice to haves:

  • Cloud experience
  • Wagtail
