Payroll Transformation (Workday)

Reporting into the transformation leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll processes, controls, and technology solutions are operating effectively following multiple Workday implementations.

You will work closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, Technology, and third-party providers to identify opportunities for process optimisation, improve data quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading payroll transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assessing current payroll processes and designing future-state solutions.
  • Supporting the optimisation of multiple implemented Workday modules.
  • Driving payroll process standardisation across a large, multi-site workforce.
  • Managing payroll-related systems enhancements, testing, and releases.
  • Identifying and resolving process inefficiencies and control gaps.
  • Partnering with HRIS, Finance, and Technology teams to improve integrations and data flows.
  • Supporting payroll governance, compliance, and risk management activities.
  • Managing stakeholders across operational and executive levels.
  • Delivering change management and adoption activities across payroll functions.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on UK payroll legislation and best practice.

Profile

Payroll Transformation (Workday)

  • Happy to adhere to a rolling contract (c. 9 months minimum)
  • Immediately available
  • Significant experience leading payroll transformation programmes.
  • Experience within a high-volume UK payroll environment supporting thousands of employees.
  • Strong experience working with Workday Payroll and multiple Workday modules (e.g. HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Benefits).
  • Proven experience following HRIS and payroll technology implementations.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, compliance, and controls.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrable process improvement and operating model redesign experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Offer

Payroll Transformation (Workday)

  • Daily rate (inclusive of holiday pay): 400 - 450 per day
  • Travel expensed when coming to the office (nr. Cambridge)
  • Typically 1 -2 days per week on site
  • 9 month, rolling contract
  • Full time
