Data Analyst - Hybrid (Diss, Norfolk)
Up to a negotiable £45,000, depending on experience Hybrid working: 3 days in-office (near Diss Station) | 2 days WFH - candidates must be based within a sensible East Anglia commute Michelle Denny Recruitment is partnering with a well-established specialist insurance business during a time of ongoing growth. We're on the lookout for a skilled Data Analyst to join their technical data team and help shape business decision-making through intelligent reporting and strategic insight. Location & Working Style This role is hybrid, not remote. The head office is just a few minutes from Diss train station. To be considered, candidates must live within East Anglia and have a realistic daily commute to Diss, as three office-based days per week are essential for team collaboration. The Role This position plays a central role in using data to drive smarter processes and support long-term growth. From designing data models to delivering business-critical reporting, you'll be both hands-on and strategic - with room to influence and improve how data is used across the business. Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business data, identify trends and offer practical insights
- Create dashboards and visual reports using Power BI
- Support system migrations and integrate datasets
- Build and maintain robust data models
- Ensure data accuracy through quality checks and validation
- Provide accessible reports to a range of business functions
- Promote automation and self-serve data tools
- Mentor junior team members and support wider data literacy
- Work with stakeholders to understand and meet reporting needs
- Keep informed of emerging data tools and best practice
- Degree in a data-focused subject (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science)
- Proficient in Power BI (including DAX), MS SQL, ETL, and Excel with VBA
- Experience with data modelling, cleansing, and integration
- Confident communicator with strong problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and able to manage time across multiple tasks
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Familiar with Azure, Python, PowerShell, SharePoint
- Exposure to statistical tools (e.g. R, SPSS)
- Insurance sector or financial services background
- Understanding of project management methodology
