The Chief Information Officer role:

Part of the Technology, Innovation and Insight directorate, the Chief Information Officer is a transformative and strategic role at Migrant Help. You will develop, direct and drive the strategy within our Technology, Innovation and Insight function, overseeing our technology systems and support, providing transformative project delivery support and steering the generation of impactful analytics. Working in partnership with senior leaders, the CIO is dedicated to aligning technology, information and insight with our purpose, meeting the requirements of growth and innovation, while making systems and information work for the people they have been developed to support. This is a strategic position that will influence every part of our operations, culture and long-term success.

Key responsibilities of our Chief Information Officer:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead our multi-year technology strategy that aligns our technology with our purpose and organisational strategy.
  • Provide leadership for organisation-wide transformation, innovation and improvement efforts, through the work of the Technology, Innovation and Insight function.

Technology Delivery, Resilience & Change Execution

  • Oversee the development, integration and management of technology platforms, systems and initiatives.
  • Implement robust delivery governance through our Project Management Office to promote effective prioritisation, efficiency and timely delivery.

Data, Analytics & Information Management

  • Advance the organisation’s data and analytics strategy, focusing on data governance, data management, data quality, and analytical capabilities.
  • Identify new opportunities to enhance and develop products and services using data.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and nurture an expert and diverse Technology, Innovation & Insight function, who are values-led and people focussed, to provide advice, guidance and support on technology, innovation and insight matters, with channels for seeking external advice, where appropriate.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Engagement

  • Managing excellent relationships with stakeholders, including our clients, staff, commissioners, regulators, subcontractors, partners, suppliers and our communities.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the reputation of Migrant Help and Clear Voice by representing the organisation internally and externally.

The experience and skills you need

  • Proven success in delivery of large-scale technology transformations across a variety of systems, platforms, applications and/or infrastructures.
  • Ability to develop and articulate a strategic vision and translate it into actionable projects.
  • Proven experience in providing high quality service to internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives successfully.
  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing long-term transformation with immediate operational needs.
  • Excellent people leadership, coaching and team-building skills, able to help drive best performance across individuals and teams and foster a culture of collaboration and high performance.
