AI Delivery within Insurance - Associate Director
The opportunity
A leading global consulting firm is looking for an Associate Director to join its AI practice, focused on the insurance sector. This is a delivery-focused senior role for someone who has genuine consulting experience, deep insurance domain knowledge, and a track record of taking AI solutions all the way to production — not just the design phase.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled solutions for insurance clients, managing timelines, budgets, and scope across the full project lifecycle
- Work closely with clients to understand business needs and translate them into practical AI solutions — bridging the gap between business problem and technical execution
- Build and manage multidisciplinary project teams (data scientists, engineers, analysts) and keep delivery on track in agile environments
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues clearly to clients and internal stakeholders
- Support business development activities and client relationships, contributing to bids and proposals where relevant
- Ensure data privacy, security, and ethical AI guardrails are embedded throughout delivery
What we're looking for
Essential
- Deep insurance industry experience across one or more sub-market domains
- Proven track record delivering AI solutions into production at scale — not just prototypes
- Consulting background with strong project and programme management skills
- Solid working knowledge of AI technologies, including generative AI
- Ability to lead and motivate diverse technical and non-technical teams
- Strong communicator — able to translate complex AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience delivering AI on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#
- Data visualisation and storytelling skills
