Job summary

We currently have an opportunity to join the back-office team in supporting eCARE functionality.To be successful in this role you will need to have knowledge of the Oracle Health suite of applications used in eCare. Some experience of using Millennium configuration tools and/or recent and relevant experience of maintaining, configuring, and developing a major clinical support system, PAS or EPR, would be an advantage.You will be flexible in approach, tenacious, a good team player and have an eye for detail.You can work well under pressure, always maintaining a pleasant and professional attitude. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise with all staff groups.Please note that there is a requirement to participate in an On Call Rota - this includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

You will be working with a team that provides technical, configuration, testing and project support across the full range of the Trust Electronic Patient Record (eCare) to Trust staff and to external organizations.The day-to-day job involves working through Service Requests and Incidents logged on to the Trust IT Service Desk system.

The post holder will provide IT Back Office support services to all staff covering the Trust's existing Patient Administration (PAS) / Electronic Patient Record (eCARE) system and the mainstream IT systems and technologies deployed around the Hospital campus.

The post holder will require a good understanding of the needs and requirements of the user community together with an in-depth knowledge of the operation and configuration of the Trust's currently deployed PAS / eCARE system to ensure that it supports the Trust's business processes and objectives on an on-going basis.N.B Staff are required to join an on-call rota to support the Trust out of hours.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Communicate and liaise with all departments as required across the Organisation and develop close relationships with other eCare/PAS support groups which include but is not limited to the eCARE project team, IT Training section, the Registration Authority, and the Information team. Ensure that any logged incidents, problems, and changes are registered on the local IT Service Desk system and that these incidents, problems, and changes are monitored through to closure to the satisfaction of the affected user, department, or the business. Participate in meetings relating to the PAS / eCARE systems development, maintenance and implementation plans and activities where these relate to the Back Office function. Meetings will typically involve both internal staff and external NHS and system support organisations. Maintain, support, and develop the Trusts currently deployed PAS/eCARE system which is the main electronic patient record system used within the Hospital. This system is mission critical to the business. Develop and run test scripts to validate any system modifications and upgrades that will be released to the Organisation as and when required. Assist with the development of the build and testing phases of any new deployments and system upgrades. This will include building new departments, wards etc and producing test scripts to validate processes with the change team and end users. These scripts will be used to sign off the local build and configuration of the system. Be able to manage the setup of new clinics, theatre sessions, clinicians, and other back-office functions in line with business needs following the correct procedures. Support the development and building of new areas within the Organisation that are going to use the system as required by the business. Perform functional and end user acceptance testing of any system upgrades that take place. Ensure that any issues uncovered are reported to local and Provider Service Desks as required and that all reported issues are suitably resolved to the satisfaction of the local business. Communicate any planned system downtime to affected users and manage the subsequent collection of manual data to be entered back into the system once the system becomes available for use. Ensure manually collected data is entered onto the eCARE system in a timely manner with support from the Organisation if necessary. Support the maintenance of data quality within the local system. Provide information to end users regarding system policies and procedures that ensure and safeguard system stability through good communications strategies. Communicate sensitive business information at all levels of the Organisation when required and engage with different functional departments to ensure their compliance with existing policies and procedures. Assist with the delivery of a Registration Authority for the Trust.
