Band 8C £79,504 - £91,609 per annum
Fixed Term / Secondment until 1 May 2027
37.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
The Senior Project Manager will lead delivery of complex workstreams within the Ophthalmology Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme, OpenEyes. The role is responsible for ensuring successful delivery against agreed scope, timescales, budget and quality standards, working across clinical, operational, digital and corporate teams. This is a senior, autonomous role operating at pace in a complex environment.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Project Manager within the Ophthalmology EPR OpenEyes Programme, you will lead a variety of projects within the programme, working autonomously on some areas and closely with the Operational Manager, Systems Manager, Clinical Lead and the rest of the team; reporting to the Associate Director of Operations.
The post holder will work across a hospital sites as required including the main Hospital and Lloyds Court and will attend other hospital sites to fulfil their role as required. A degree of hybrid/home working is anticipated in the role, with a minimum of 3 days on MKUH sites.

Produce detailed project documentation including typical PRINCE2 artefacts and project reports that meet the needs of Programme Governance/Digital Boards.Work with colleagues to construct a clinical safety plan; DCB0129/0160 approach, hazard log ownership and sign-off route.
HR Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for leading and coordinating workforce activity across multiple clinical services and sites to support the delivery of the EPR programme. The role will involve supporting the implementation of service and system changes, ensuring that workforce requirements, skills and capacity are aligned to evolving service needs

Person Specification
Qualifications and knowledge
- Educated to master's level or equivalent experience
- Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 or PMP)
- Understanding of IT infrastructure management to ITIL Foundation level
- Understanding of Ophthalmology Clinical Pathways
Experience
- Demonstrable experience in formal project documentation
- Working knowledge of financial processes including preparing and managing budgets
- Able to use Digital systems including Microsoft Office
- Risk management and governance
- Proven experience of working in a senior management/leadership role.
- Experience of managing and motivating a large team or teams
- Leading changes in practice in a complex environment to improve performance/services
- Leading complex work streams
- Business case development
- Proven Digital NHS experience in Hospital and Community Systems configuration
- Clinical system deployment
- Project experience in a clinical system setting
