The role

We are looking for a Research Scientist to join our Science and Research team. This role focuses on developing scientific and mathematical methods that underpin Mirada’s clinical products, including algorithm development, quantitative techniques, and product validation.

Working closely with Engineering, Product, and the wider business, you will contribute to research projects that translate into real world clinical solutions. You will also be involved in clinical collaborations, publishing papers, and presenting results at scientific meetings, helping to strengthen Mirada’s scientific credibility and product roadmap.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in medical imaging or quantitative research who enjoys applying science to practical healthcare challenges and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

We would be particularly interested to receive applications from anyone with experience in quantitative NM and radiopharmaceutical therapy

Key responsibilities

• Undertaking research projects as directed by the Head of Science and Research

• Developing algorithms and technology for use in Mirada products

• Writing technical reports and publishing scientific papers

• Presenting research results at national and international conferences

• Working closely with the Engineering team on product development

• Participating in the development and maintenance of the product roadmap

• Contributing to the creation and growth of Mirada’s IP portfolio

• Carrying out literature reviews and writing reports to support regulatory activities

• Providing scientific input across the Mirada product portfolio, including some sales support where appropriate

• Supporting internal teams with scientific expertise

• Supervising interns and students where required

• Supporting wider departmental activities as needed

Essential skills and experience

• Experience in research and development within a relevant scientific or technical field

• Strong verbal communication skills with excellent technical writing skills

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team

• Proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, C/C++, Java, VTK, or Matlab

• Understanding of good practice in scientific programming

• Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: medical image processing and analysis, quantification techniques, machine or deep learning, CT/MRI/PET/SPECT or nuclear medicine imaging modalities, radiopharmaceutical dosimetry

• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications

• Ability to manage your own workload and contribute across multiple projects

Preferred skills and experience

• Background in medical imaging or healthcare related research

• Experience translating research into product development

• Experience publishing papers and presenting at conferences

• Familiarity with regulated environments such as medical devices
