Software Engineer

Mirada’s Development Team are seeking a self-motivated software engineer with an interest in the medical imaging domain to participate in the design and development of Mirada’s global software systems. Working collaboratively within small multi-discipline project teams, you will take a role specialising in the development of Mirada’s medical software products and being involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle to bring new versions to market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional
- Software development including analysis, architecture and design, development, testing and all associated documentation
- Estimation and regular updating of progress of all tasks
- Active participation in reviews of the work of own and others
- Proactively participates in company and functional improvement initiatives
- Actively participate in the quality process and contribute to its continuous improvement
- Work individually or as part of a team, and interacting with all functional groups as required
- Support and maintenance activities for software issues including, where necessary, site-visits
- Research, investigation and prototyping in new areas when requested
- Validation of internal and 3rd party software
- May coordinate and lead the work of small teams, reporting progress to Technical Leads
- May be expected to become the lead or specialist in one or more technologies or disciplines
- Pursue learning and self-development and sharing of knowledge with others
- Occasional general administrative duties as required
Employees are responsible for:
- Complying with the requirements of the Quality Management System and Information Security Management System and all policies and procedures
- Reporting Non-Conformances, Reportable Events and Information security Incidents
- Providing feedback on any QMS or ISMS improvements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Skills
- BSc computer science or relevant Science/Engineering degree
- Experience in Java development, including the use of Swing
- Experience of working with IDE, source control systems, issue tracking systems and build systems.
- Experience of developing software to requirement specifications
- Understanding the full software development lifecycle
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to gather input from key stakeholders during design phase
- Excellent time management skills, with ability to estimate work and meet deadlines individually and as part of a team
- The ability to analyse and use initiative to solve technical challenges
- Takes a methodical and structured approach to tasks
- Eager and self-motivated to learn and assist others
Advantageous Skills
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Familiarity with UML or other design methodologies
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical users
- Comfortable dealing with customers and representing Mirada and its values
