What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and coordinate a team of MI Analysts, Data Analysts, and BI Developers to deliver insightful analysis and reporting supporting business managers.
- Own the MI, BI, and Analytics function, working with operational leaders to ensure reporting meets business needs.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, legislative, and regulatory requirements while maintaining excellent internal customer service.
- Develop and execute the roadmap for data platforms and reporting solutions.
- Manage data governance, ensuring data collection, storage, security, and accessibility.
- Create and implement a MI and BI framework to standardise team practices and ensure data quality.
- Lead design, implementation, and operation of BI data analysis systems, driving the BI strategy to meet organisational goals.
- Manage BI/MI lifecycle with business user involvement in design processes, data modelling, and integration.
- Prioritise and deliver data-driven initiatives and incremental improvements.
- Optimise the use of commercial and enterprise data across products, sales, finance, and claims.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Generate dashboards, reporting packs, and visualisations for senior management.
- Stay up to date with enterprise BI tool developments, especially Microsoft Power BI.
- Motivate and manage the team, maintaining strong relationships across the organisation.
- Implement policies, documentation, governance, and establish a Centre of Excellence for insight and analysis.
- Support data engineering tasks including SQL modelling, data munging, ETL/ELT pipelines, API interactions, and automation using Python.
- Deliver trusted, high-quality data to inform customer experience and satisfaction insights.
What you can bring:
- Degree in relevant field (finance, maths, physics, or similar).
- Additional qualifications (MBA, CFA) are a plus.
- Proficient in SQL, R or Python, data visualisation, statistical programming, and data science techniques.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data mapping, logical modelling, and business analysis.
- Experience with Azure data tools and Power BI.
- Proven ability to lead and influence technical teams.
- Experience with project management and Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Problem-solving skills with a business focus and stakeholder management experience.
- Knowledge of change management and systems processes.
- Comfortable with cloud platforms and Microsoft stack tools like Synapse, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps.
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, T-SQL, and SSIS.
- Understanding of ELT/ETL processes, RESTful APIs, and integration concepts.
